Arcanacon XXVI Flames of War tournament results.
Arcanacon XXVI was a games convention held in
Melbourne
over the Australia Day weekend (January 25-28), 2008.
This Flames of War tournament organized by Django Upton was one of many competitions at the convention.
Play consisted of four rounds on Saturday Jan 26.
Players used painted 15mm scale Mid War armies of up to 1500 points Terrain was pre-set and defined.
Tables included desert hills, oasis, stream crossing, ruined city, ruined village and steppe.
The draw was by Swiss chess by accumulated generalship score with the best attempt made to match historical opponents.
Missions played were Hold the line, Encounter, Free for All and Breakthrough.
Generalship was scored as normal, Players scored 1-5 points for sportsmanship to each opponent and armies were assessed with 0-3 points for list construction, painting and background and a further point for providing terrain. Overall score was twice generalship and army score plus sports score.

* Adrian Stacy had the highest generalship score but the Best General trophy was awarded to Michael Blowfield as the next highest generalship score as only one trophy was to be awarded to each player.
