The Northern Suburbs Games Association (NSGA) is a miniatures and board gaming club located in Melbourne, Australia. The NSGA (and its previous incarnations as the Thornbury Wargames group and the Knights of the Square Table) has been meeting in various places in the Northcote/Thornbury area for 25 years. Anyone with an interest in gaming of any period or style whatsoever is welcome to come along.

What we do

Miniatures

We have many games tables and a wide variety of quality terrain available for use by members.
Rules used include:
Ancients: DBM in 15mm, DBA in 15mm and 25mm, Warmaster Ancients in 6mm.
Pike and Shot: DBR in 15mm.
Seven Years War: Age of Reason, Might and Reason in 15mm.
Napoleonics: Empire in 5mm.
World War 2: Command Decision 3 in 5mm and 15mm, Flames of War in 15mm, Naval.
Fantasy: Warmaster in 10mm, DBF and HOTT in 15mm, HOTT in 25mm.
Sci-Fi: Warhammer 40k in 25mm, Full Thrust.

Board Games

Large multiplayer boardgames are popular at the NSGA including:
Star Fleet Battles, Federation and Empire, World in Flames & Empires in Arms.
Simpler boardgames like Risk, Settlers of Catan & History of the World are also played.

When and where we meet

Cost

There is a $2 per meeting door fee paid to the Fawkner Community House. Attendees must also fill in a Fawkner Neighbourhood House membership form. Membership of the NSGA is $10 till June 30 each year and covers buying games, terrain etc.

Facilities

The venue provides a comfortable environment all year round. Soft drinks and snack food are available at reasonable prices in the kitchen.

Other meeting dates and times are possible by prior arrangement.

The NSGA meets at the Fawkner Community House at the end of the Leisure Centre car park, CB Smith Reserve, 79 Jukes Rd, Fawkner, Melbourne.

Melways map reference 17, J2. Online map can be found here. Note that parking directly in front of the venue is time restricted but there is ample untimed parking to the side.

Access by public transport is possible by bus and train on the Upfield line. The closest train stations are Fawkner and Gowrie (zone 2 only). The 530 bus (zone 2 only) goes from Fawkner station to the venue. See metlink website for more information.

The NSGA used to meet at the Clyde St Community Centre, 60 Clyde St Thornbury. We no longer have any association with that venue.
